Ukraine’s computer-making; tablets

1. Production volumes 

According to the results of 2018 the sales volume of computers, electronics and optics totaled USD492 million (UAH13,046.5 million). [1] During January-April 2019 production of computers grew by 44.3% compared to the similar period of 2018. [2]

2. Largest producers 

‘Navigator Corporation’ LLC [3] has been producing personal computers under ‘Impression Electronics’ brand [4] and servers for more than 20 years. Since 2011 it has been producing tablets and since 2014 - smartphones. 

‘Proxis’ company [5] is a leader in the field of industrial computers. The ‘Proxis® -Universal’ line stands for collection, procession and display of telemetric information in automatic control systems and ACS of technological processes, low and middle level procession and display servers in telecommunication systems.

Due to a great number of expansion slots the ‘Proxis® -Universal’ line of industrial computers are successfully used in video surveillance and access control systems, multi-channel audio and video recording.

‘AIRON’ Company [6] specializes in production of portable electronics and safe electronic devices for reading which are competitive to tablets in terms of their functional qualities. The company has a 6-model line of modern electronic ‘AirBook City’ books in its arsenal. 

3. High-technology production of computers 

All Ukraine-made computer technics are produced at advanced and strongest national production-and-logistics complex taking into account the latest world technological developments. They correspond to all international quality standards (ISO 9001: 2009 [7] and ISO 14001: 2006 [8]). 

The production is equipped with: 5x products’ assembly lines, a sector of individual assembly, 3x thermal cameras for PC testing and packaging lines allowing to produce up to 1500 computers per day (‘Navigator Corporation’ LLC). [9]

4. Control of production at every stage 

Organizing the technological process according to international standards gives a possibility to control the production of computer technics at every stage. The production process is controlled with the help of special electronic automatic system.  

5. High quality of the products  

Main priority for Ukrainian producer is to assure the highest quality of the products. Every single computer produced in Ukraine undergoes special 6 to 18 hours-long testing in a thermal camera in order to identify and remove any possible defects.  

To determine full working capacity of a computer it goes through testing with different loads for 12 hours and more. Results of the tests obtained are kept in the factory data base during the whole of warranty period (2-3 years).

In addition to that, after all tests are completed, some 5% of ready-made computers are randomly selected for individual full-scale testing involving re-installation of the system. 

6. Extra random product testing  

After the tests are completed, quality and packaging are checked, the technical control department randomly tests 10% of ready-made packaged systems for full working capacity and availability of accessories to be included. Independent control allows to assure the quality of the products and their correspondence to the set international standards. [10]
