Ukraine-made shampoos – brief overview
1. Production of shampoos in Ukraine
Ukraine produces broad assortment of natural shampoos made of organic, ecologically clean raw materials. The shampoos are made for all types of hair: dry, normal, prone to get greasy, damaged, or such a hair, that requires revitalization and treatment.

The enterprise operates in complete production cycle from development of preparations’ recipes to their direct production. All products by the enterprise undergo strict toxicology expertise in the Ministry of Health of Ukraine’s specialized organizations and thorough laboratory control, which provide for their high quality and safety. Company’s hair care products are represented by shampoos, shampoos-balsams and masks for all types of hair.
‘Medical Science-and-production association ‘BIOKON’’ LLC [3] is a cosmetic brand, which unites medical scientific principles with traditions of natural cosmetics. The brand works in constant contact with prominent global cosmetic institutions and manufacturers of raw materials. Broad assortment of cosmetics is made here: about 100 product names in more than 20 series of hair, skin and body care products. 3. High quality of Ukraine-made shampoos
Ukraine-made shampoos are of high quality and are competitive to their foreign analogues, since only natural, ecologically clean and safe raw materials are used for their production, and entire production process is carried out in accordance with the EU declarations.
The products contain 97% natural biologically active ingredients, ether oils and the extracts of medicinal herbs obtained from over 85 countries of the world. All plants are grown under strict control at special plantations in ecologically clean zones. [7]
Ukraine-made shampoos feature unique innovative patented recipe and are not tested on animals. The recipes are developed by competent cosmetologists with participation of biotechnologists and microbiologists. Ukraine actively exports shampoos. For instance, ‘Pirana’ LLC supplies its products to Russia, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Armenia, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, [9] ‘Medical Science-and-production association ‘BIOKON’’ LLC – to Latvia, Estonia, France, Greece, Russia, Czech Republic and the USA. According to the results of 2019 Ukraine exported 6.50 thousand tons of hair care products for the total amount of USD16.59 million.
The CIS countries purchased most – 4.84 thousand tons for the amount of USD13.10 million (Belarus accounted for 1.31 thousand tons and USD3.67 million, Russia – for 942.59 tons and USD3.12 million, Moldova – for 708.37 tons and USD2.63 million, Kazakhstan – for 384.63 tons and USD862.4 thousand, Azerbaijan – for 332.02 tons and USD529.6 thousand, Kyrgyzstan – for 73.12 tons and USD114.0 thousand, Armenia – for 19.74 tons and USD25.5 thousand).
European countries acquired 1.04 thousand tons for the amount of USD2.24 million (Poland accounted for 737.33 tons and USD1.30 million, Lithuania – for 68.57 tons and USD407.5 thousand, Latvia – for 101.26 tons and USD249.1 thousand, Slovakia – for 106.05 tons and USD205.6 thousand), Asian countries imported 586.65 tons for the amount of USD974.1 thousand (Georgia accounted for 467.57 tons and USD842.0 thousand, Vietnam – for 98.92 tons and USD79.3 thousand, Iraq – for 13.38 tons and USD29.7 thousand), African countries purchased 15.65 tons for the amount of USD23.1 thousand (Morocco accounted for 15.65 tons and USD23.1 thousand), the countries of both Americas procured 6.90 tons for the amount of USD20.3 thousand (the USA accounted for 6.33 tons and USD19.0 thousand).
