Ukraine-made linoleum – brief overview
1. Production of linoleum in Ukraine. Largest producers
Ukraine produces wide assortment of household, semi-commercial, commercial and special purpose linoleum as well as autolinoleum. The companies below are among the largest producers:
‘VINISIN’ LTD (‘TARKETT VINISIN’ LTD) [1] is the largest producer of linoleum in Ukraine. Plant’s productivity amounts to 10 million square meters of products per annum. The plant runs a combined line for production of heterogeneous household and commercial linoleum. In April 2011 the plant commenced production of sports PVC coverings.
PE ‘CHEMPLAST’ (‘LINOPLAST’ TM) [2] produces wide assortment of household, commercial, semi-commercial linoleum and autolinoleum with the width from 1.5 meters to 4 meters.
PRIVATE COMPANY ‘ALEX-3’ [3] produces auto linoleum and semi-commercial linoleum.
2. High quality of Ukraine-made products
Products by Ukrainian enterprises are of high quality and possess certificates of conformity with Ukrainian national standards, ecological and sanitary-hygienic conclusions as well as all necessary certificates for usage in the EU countries. [4]
High level of ecological safety at Ukrainian plants’ production sites is confirmed by ISO 14001:2004 certificate. The manufacturing enterprises have also implemented and operate the quality management system which corresponds to requirements of international ISO 9001:2008 standard. [5]
Ukraine-made linoleum is covered with 10-year warranty. [6]
3. Exported volumes and geography of exports
Ukraine actively exports linoleum. For instance, PE ‘CHEMPLAST’ exports its products to Poland, Slovakia and Russia, [7] has official representative office in Kazakhstan. [8] ‘VINISIN’ LTD exports to the EU countries.
According to the results of 2018 Ukraine sent abroad 6.00 thousand tons of vinyl chloride polymer floor coverings for the amount of USD10.06 million. The CIS countries purchased 3.22 thousand tons for the amount of USD5.51 million (Russia accounted for 1.98 thousand tons and USD3.73 million, Kazakhstan – for 658.19 tons and USD1.07 million).
European countries purchased 147.20 tons of products for the amount of USD2.47 million (Poland accounted for 852.74 tons and USD1.49 million, Romania – for 301.05 tons and USD548.9 thousand).
Asian countries imported 1.30 thousand tons for the amount of USD2.05 million (Turkey accounted for 600.53 tons and USD808.8 thousand, China – for 177.53 tons and USD357.5 thousand, the UAE – for 91.77 tons and USD175.0 thousand). [9]
