The Gospel tells how Christ pointed to lilies as flowers of perfect beauty. He cited them as an example to people who, in their worries about earthly well-being, forget about God. Pointing to them, the Lord said that the lilies do not care about their clothing, although they are dressed better than King Solomon: God Himself dresses them in beautiful clothes. In the same way, a person who has clothed himself in humility, who has acquired spiritual purity and love, receives grace-filled gifts from God.  

In its shape, the lily resembles the Holy Trinity, apparently, which is why in ancient times there was a legend that the Archangel Gabriel appeared to the Blessed Virgin Mary with a lily in his hand to announce to Her the birth of Her Divine Son. The lily is a symbol of purification through Baptism and is often depicted in ancient ornaments.

Any ornament, thanks to the rhythmic repetition of the same elements, creates a feeling of order, harmony and harmony of the Universe. Outwardly static, it always carries internal movement. The cross, a symbol of the four ends of the earth and the entire universe, united within itself by the Divine Power, flourishes with lilies as a sign of purification and transformation. Each of its crossbars is additionally decorated with plant shoots, which symbolize the Garden of Eden. This is a symbolic image of the world flourishing in Christ,  which, like the Heavenly Paradise, has been cleansed from all evil, death and enmity, in which Love, Beauty and the Light of the Gospel reign, the world that is revealed to man through Baptism.

On the front side on both sides of the eight-pointed cross is written the abbreviated holy name of Christ “IS XC”, at the top “King of Glory”, at the bottom “NIKA”, which means “conquered”, because with the Cross the Lord defeated death and opened the gates of Heavenly Jerusalem for people. But only the righteous can pass through them. However, in the soul of all Christians there lives the hope of God’s endless mercy,therefore, on the back of the cross are written the words of the prayer: “Lord, have mercy on me!”.
