The CH-301 dimming module is a Z-Wave device that is used to control lighting and dim incandescent lamps, halogen lamps, dimmable LED lamps, using switches connected to it or using Z-Wave radio commands. CH-301 is a so-called “boxed product”. This means that you just need to take it out of the box, install it according to the wiring diagram, add a network to the Z-Wave and the device is ready to work. Z-Wave is the international wireless standard for smart homes. The standard uses a frequency of 868.42 MHz (for Europe) to realize a very stable and secure connection. Each Z-Wave node on the network can act as a repeater for other nodes (mesh network) if the recipient is not in direct wireless range of the transmitter. 1. SPECIFICATIONS 2. An innovative feature of the dimmer is the automatic maintenance of the set illumination, depending on external conditions. This technology involves the interaction of the module with the light-motion sensor CH-S04.10, so that the dimmer will maintain the illumination you set in the room when you are in it, and when you are away, the dimmer will automatically turn off. The module can be controlled locally using the switches connected to it to contacts S1 and S2. Switches in this case can be either monostable (return or bell type) or bistable (standard switch with two fixed positions). To select the switch type, set the appropriate value in Parameters #16 and #17. In addition, the module can be controlled remotely using the Z-Wave commands of the main controller (see. Main controller manual) or with other Z-Wave devices using links (see the manual of these devices). The module also supports the ability to control using ConnectHome sensors connected to a special S-Bus connector. 3. Connecting the device Follow the safety rules during the installation / dismantling of the device for Ukraine “DNAOP 0.00-1.32-01” for Russia this is the “PUE” seventh edition. Before starting installation, it is necessary to de-energize the electrical network, and protection against accidental switching on of voltage in the network must also be provided. Electrical work must be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with current codes and regulations. If problems arise or if it is impossible to ensure the safe work of the installer during installation, turn off the power to the device and the equipment connected to it immediately. The dimensions of the module allow the device to fit into a standard installation box with a diameter of 60 mm and a depth of 45 mm behind your circuit breaker. Before installation, turn off the power supply, connect the module according to the wiring diagram. Please note that during normal operation, the module generates little heat. Take measures to ensure normal heat dissipation. Do not install several modules together in a limited space, do not allow the module to be placed in thermal insulation materials. Figure 1 Figure 1 shows the location of the module for installation in a European socket Connection diagram Figure 2 Figure 2 The diagram shows: L – phase; N - neutral wire; ~ – exit; S1 - Contact for Switch No. 1; S2 - Contact for Switch No. 2; CH-301 is a module that has the ability to connect various ConnectHome sensors. They can be of two types: binary (for example, a motion sensor, it has only two values: there is movement, there is no movement) and multilevel (For example, a temperature sensor). Sensors are not included in the kit, if necessary, they can be purchased separately. Table 2 - List of ConnectHome sensors that can be connected to CH-301*: Binary sensors Multilevel sensors CH-S04.10 light-movement sensor (10m radius) CH-S01 temperature sensor CH-S02 temperature and humidity sensor Sensors are used for evaluation the environment in your home: temperature measurements; measurements of relative air humidity; illumination level; presence of movement; current power of electric load; In the Z-Wave network, sensors are displayed as structural units (endpoint) of the CH-301 module. In addition, sensors can control other devices and the module itself. Control should be understood as turning on / off, dimming various lamps, or sending an appropriate command to devices that are in the module's connection group when different sensor values are reached. There are 6 connection groups for controlling other devices (see section Connections and Parameters) Only one ConnectHome sensor can be connected to the S-Bus input. The sensor must be connected before adding the module to the Z-Wave network. If it becomes necessary to connect the sensor after connecting the module to the Z-Wave network, you must first remove it, and re-add it after connecting the sensor. To enable the module in the Z-Wave network, put the controller into learning mode (see your controller manual) and power up the device. The device will be added automatically (NWI). If this does not happen automatically, briefly press the system button located on the top cover of the device three times. If you have problems connecting the device to your Z-Wa network, you must go through the exclusion procedure from the Z-Wave network, and then repeat the inclusion procedure. To remove (exclude) the module from the Z-Wave network, switch the controller to the exclusion mode (see the controller instructions) and briefly press the system button three times. Please note that after the device is excluded from the Z-Wave network, all settings you have made will be reset to factory settings. You can also add / remove a device from the Z-Wave network using the switch, which is connected to pin S1. If the switch is monostable (Parameter 15), then adding/removing is done by pressing the switch three times within 2 seconds. In case the switch is bistable (Parameter 15), the addition/removal is performed by sequential combination of the switch on-off-on(1-0-1) or off-on-off(0-1-0) within 2 seconds. To start working with the device in the Z Wave network, switch the controller to add mode as shown in the instruction of your controller Figure 3. Figure 3 Then press the system button three times to start adding Figure 4. Figure 4 If you have problems connecting the device to your Z-Wave network, you must go through the exclusion procedure from the Z-Wave network, and then repeat the inclusion procedure.
