The gold pectoral cross is made in the tradition of Russian icon-painting crosses. On the front side, Jesus Christ is shown in the center of the “deesis”, which is the name of the composition with the image of the Lord Pantocrator and the Mother of God and John the Baptist standing before Him. They are depicted as intercessors of people before God, forever praying for them before the Divine Throne. The book in the Savior's hand symbolizes the Book of Life. It contains the deeds of men and the names of the righteous who will inherit eternal life. On the reverse side of the cross there is an image of the prophet Elijah - one of the most revered saints of the Old Testament. They pray to him during drought, believing that Elijah is the manager of the forces of nature.
