The front side depicts the Crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ. Standing on both sides of Christ are the Most Holy Theotokos and John the Baptist, the main prayer books for people before God. This composition is called “deesis”, which means “prayer”. Below is the icon of Archangel Michael, a powerful protector from evil forces. On the back in the center is the Guardian Angel, next to which are placed images of saints especially revered in the Church. This is St. Blessed Xenia of Petersburg, St. blgv. book Alexander Nevsky, and the great holy healer and wonderworker St. Alexander Svirsky. At the top of the cross is the Kazan Icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
