Orthodox cross "Etymasia. Eight Saints" p02662 Onyx

The center of the front side of the cross, instead of the traditional Crucifixion, is occupied by etomasia. This is an iconic image of Jesus Christ seated on a throne. He is ready for the Last Judgment.

On the reverse side in the center are written words - appeals to God. And in the curves of the planks the following images of the Saints are placed: at the top - St. Nicholas the Wonderworker; below - Basil the Great; on the left - John Chrysostom; on the right - Gregory the Theologian.
People turn to Nicholas the Wonderworker when they need help in difficult life situations. More than once he saved sea travelers, military men and ordinary people from certain death. In addition, he has the gift of healing.
The remaining Saints represented on this side of the cross are honored as the creators of the Liturgy, as the universal teachers of the Church.
