The raised hands of the Mother of God in prayer mean intercession for people before God, prayer for peace. Below is Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, the most beloved saint of the Orthodox Church. The saint is revered  as a healer of diseases, patron of travelers, especially by sea, assistant in trade, study, and also in finding a worthy spouse.
