On the front side of the cross is depicted the image of the Savior not made by hands, which He imprinted on a board and handed over for healing to the king of Edessa, who was sick with leprosy.
On both sides of Christ stands the Most Holy Theotokos and the holy prophet John the Baptist, the Forerunner of the Lord, the first defenders and prayer books for people before God.
Below is St. Nicholas, to whom people pray in all everyday circumstances and spiritual needs.
On the back of the cross is the icon of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Feast of the Intercession of the Mother of God is a remembrance of a miracle. The Most Holy Theotokos appeared to the believers above the altar of the temple and spread Her veil over them, as if prayerfully sheltering them from any trouble.
