The front side of the cross depicts the Crucifixion of Christ. Nearby are those who were present at His execution: the Mother of God and Mary Magdalene on the left, St. John the Theologian and centurion Longinus on the right. Around the Crucified Savior on the cross are icons of the most revered saints in Rus', heavenly helpers in a variety of needs, spiritual and family problems. On the horizontal crossbar to the right and left there are images of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and the holy martyr Tryphon. At the top of the cross is an image of the Holy Trinity.  Below – Three Ecumenical Hierarchs, Vasily  The Great, John Chrysostom and Gregory the Theologian. The cross is framed by prayer. These are the words from the Canon of the Cross of the Lord: “The cross is omnipotent, praise to the apostles, confirmation of the saints and the sign of the faithful, glory to the hierarchs and martyrs, victory and confirmation of all who praise you. Be the Honest Cross, guardian of soul and body, in your image casting down demons, driving away enemies, exercising passions, and bestowing blessings, life and strength, with the assistance of the Holy Spirit, and with honest Most Pure prayers.”

On the back of the cross in the center there is an icon of the Mother of God “Tolgskaya”, the great miraculous shrine of the Yaroslavl land. Above, the Mother of God is overshadowed by a Guardian Angel. The image of his service is presented in the icon below, “The Guardian Angel Leads the Soul of a Man.” To the left and right are images of the greatest saints of the Christian Church  St. Sergius of Radonezh and St. Spyridon of Trimifuntsky. Along the edge are written the words of a prayer to the Most Holy Theotokos: “Do not entrust me to human intercession, Most Holy Lady, but accept the prayer of Your servant: for sorrow will support me, I cannot endure demonic shooting, I have no protection, below where the accursed will resort, we are always defeated, and there is no consolation Imam, don’t you, the Lady of the world, give hope and intercession to the faithful, do not despise my prayer, do it useful.”
