On the front side of the cross, in the center, according to tradition, is the Crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ. To the left of the Lord is depicted the holy noble prince Alexander Nevsky (1221–1263), to the right is the holy noble prince Dimitry Donskoy (1350–1389).
Holy princes are revered as patrons of warriors and protectors from enemies of body and soul. Above the Crucifixion is the image of the Metropolitan of Moscow, Saint Alexy (1293–1378). He is revered as an assistant in raising children and a healer, especially for eye diseases.
Below is an icon of St. Sergius of Radonezh (1314–1392), the great wonderworker and healer. People turn to him in various illnesses, difficult life situations, and also when children have difficulties in learning.
The Archangel Michael is depicted in the center of the cross. The mighty Archangel is revered as the patron of warriors and all those who are faithful to God and those leading the fight against the forces of evil, as well as the protector of the souls of the dead, the guardian of the gates of heaven.
Above him is the blessing right hand - a sign of the presence of God. Around are the symbols of the four evangelists: the eagle (John), the lion (Mark), the calf (Luke) and the angel (Matthew).
