The front side of the cross depicts the Crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ. Standing before Him on both sides in deesis (praying for people) are the Most Holy Theotokos and the prophet John the Baptist, the Baptist of the Lord. Above is the Holy Trinity. This is the image of the Triune God, who appeared in the form of three Angels to the forefather Abraham. On the ear is placed the Miraculous Image of the Savior, one of the most powerful protective symbols of Orthodoxy. On the lower stamp is the image of Archangel Michael. The Archangel of the Heavenly Host wages an irreconcilable war against the forces of evil, guards the gates of heaven and protects the souls of people. On the reverse side of the cross is a short prayer addressed to the Lord: “Save and preserve” and a prayer to the Life-giving Cross of the Lord: “We bow to Your Cross, Master, and we glorify Your Holy Resurrection.” The lower stamp depicts the Holy Prince Alexander Nevsky, who is revered as the protector of Orthodox Christians and the patron of warriors. At the top of the cross we see an anchor, the oldest Christian symbol of hope and salvation. The shape of the cross itself is also made in the form of an anchor.
