The front side of the cross depicts the Crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ. On both sides are the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. the prophet and Forerunner of the Lord John the Baptist, who had special courage before God to pray for all people. At the top is an icon of the Holy Trinity. This is the image of the Triune God, who appeared in the form of three angels to the forefather Abraham. The ear depicts the Miracle Image of the Lord Jesus Christ, respected as one of the strongest protective symbols of Orthodoxy. Below is the Great Martyr George the Victorious, one of the most revered saints of the Christian Church, patron of warriors, assistant in peasant labor, spiritual assistant in the invisible struggle against the forces of evil. On the back below there is a depiction of the holy noble prince Alexander Nevsky, who is revered as the protector of Orthodox Christians and the patron of warriors. In the center is written a short prayer, which is traditionally placed on all crosses: “Save and preserve.” Around it is written the opening poem of a protective prayer to the Honest Cross. This prayer is read in danger, and also carried with oneself for protection from evil forces: “And let those who hate Him flee from His face.” As smoke disappears, they will disappear; As wax melts in the face of fire, so they will perish."
