Thermostat CH-202 is a Z-Wave device designed to control air conditioners by sending them IR commands. The thermostat can send commands to turn on, turn off, select the desired temperature, control the fan speed and operating modes. The device has a simple algorithm for learning IR commands. CH-202 can expand its functionality by connecting various ConnectHome sensors. Z-Wave is the international wireless standard for smart homes. The standard uses a frequency of 868.42 MHz (for Europe) to realize a very stable and secure connection. Each Z-Wave node on the network can act as a repeater for other nodes (mesh network) if the recipient is not in direct wireless range of the transmitter. 1. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS 2. The thermostat also supports commands to turn on / off from other devices. 3. Connecting the device Follow the safety rules during installation / dismantling of the device for Ukraine “DNAOP 0.00-1.32-01” for Russia this is the “PUE” seventh edition. Before starting installation, it is necessary to de-energize the electrical network, and protection against accidental switching on of voltage in the network must also be provided. Electrical work must be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with current codes and regulations. If problems arise or if it is impossible to ensure the safe work of the installer during installation, turn off the power to the device and the equipment connected to it immediately. Before installing the module, go through the IR command learning procedure. IR thermostat connection diagram Figure 1. Figure 1 Where: L - Phase N - Neutral wire ir- - connector for connecting an IR transmitter (Blue); ir+ - connector for connecting an IR transmitter (Red); metr – power sensor connector (only for CH-202p). Please note that during normal operation, the module generates little heat. Take measures to ensure normal heat dissipation. Do not install several modules together in a limited space, do not allow the module to be placed in thermal insulation materials. You can place the thermostat in any place convenient for you, but several criteria must be taken into account: the IR transmitter must be fixed in such a way that so that it is directed to the IR receiver of the air conditioner; if the device is equipped with CH-202p (with a power sensor), one of the air conditioner supply wires (L or N) must be passed through the sensor clip. Preparation for the training procedure. Download and install the program - IR - Configurator Download and install the driver for IR - Configurator IR-Configurator If the program does not start, download and install an additional driver - Additional Driver. Connect the thermostat to the PC with a USB-microUSB data cable (the cord is not included). Wait until the program connects to the device. After connecting the device, you can start learning the air conditioner commands (Figure 2). Figure 2 Before starting the learning procedure, you need to determine what type of commands the learning air conditioner uses. To do this: • Turn on the air conditioner using the remote control; • Close the control panel so that the commands from it do not reach the air conditioner and press the on/off button; • Direct the control panel so that the commands from it do not reach the air conditioner and press the on / off button; • Point the remote control at the air conditioner and press the on/off button again. If the air conditioner turns off - the air conditioner uses a toogle command, if not (the signal will reach, but the air conditioner remains on) - the air conditioner uses a command of the On / Off type. Air conditioners that use the Toogle (switch) command do not have an "off" or "on" command. The Toogle command switches the air conditioner to the opposite state. This means, if the air conditioner is turned on, the “turn off” command will be sent, if it is turned off, it will send the “turn on” command, to the last set value. For such air conditioners, there are 2 sets of commands: To set the temperature and the Togle command (in one package). To set the temperature. In this regard, team training occurs twice with the Togle team and without the Togle team. The learning procedure. Having chosen the type of air conditioner commands, it is necessary to teach the thermostat three blocks of commands (Heating mode (Heating), cooling mode (Cooling) and fan speed (Speed)). In this case, it is necessary to take into account the peculiarity of the transmission of commands from some manufacturers of air conditioners. The fan speed is sometimes transmitted along with the selected mode and temperature, in which case you will not be able to control the fan speed correctly. In this case, do not teach the fan speed unit. On top of the CH-202 module case there is an IR signal receiver window. To teach commands Point the IR transmitter on the air conditioner remote control towards the IR receiver. The distance between the IR receiver and the IR transmitter should be no more than three centimeters. Mode - training (on/off command type) Go to the program menu by pressing the button in the form of three bars on the top right and select the "Training" mode Figure 3. Figure 3 The current mode of the program is displayed on the bottom panel of the program Figure 4. Figure 4 Select the button which you want to train. The button starts blinking - indicates the readiness of the device to start learning. Prepare the air conditioner remote control to send the command (choose the appropriate mode (heating/cooling), desired temperature, etc.). Send the selected command using the enable button on the remote control to the IR command receiver window (hole on the top of the device). The button for which the command was recorded will blink green - if the recording is successful, if it is unsuccessful, it will blink red. In case of an error, it is necessary to rewrite the command. Repeat the learning procedure for the rest of the buttons. Mode - training (type of commands TOOGLE). For air conditioners using the Toogle command, be sure to teach the device two modes of operation: commands without Toogle, commands with Toogle. Go to the program menu and select "Training" and select Toogle mode Figure 5. Figure 5 The current mode of the program is displayed on the bottom panel of the program Figure 6. Figure 6 Select the button you want to train. The button will begin to blink - indicates that you can start learning. Prepare the air conditioner remote control to send the command (choose the appropriate mode (heating/cooling), desired temperature, etc.). Send the selected command to the IR command receiver window (hole on the top of the device); The button for which the command was recorded will blink green - if the recording is successful, if it is unsuccessful, it will blink red. In case of an error, it is necessary to rewrite the command. Repeat the learning procedure for the rest of the buttons. Repeat the procedure 2 - 6 for the mode "commands with Toogle" CH-202 Figure 7. Figure 7 The current mode of the program is displayed on the bottom panel of the program Figure 8. Figure 8 Mode - checks You can check the correctness of the trained command using the "Check" mode for commands On/Off type. To test a command like Toogle, select the modes "Check commands without Toogle" or "Check commands with Toogle"; Point the IR transmitter towards the air conditioner and select the already trained command. The device, via an IR transmitter, will send a command to your air conditioner. If the program shows the message "Error", you must rewrite the command for this button. After completing the learning procedure, disconnect the module from the computer and proceed to the next step. Connecting to the Z Wave network To start working with the device in the Z Wave network, switch the controller to the add mode as shown in the instruction of your controller Figure 9. Figure 9 Then press the system button three times to start adding Figure 10. Figure 10 Then configure the connection groups and parameters at your discretion according to the paragraph “Links and parameters”. To delete a device, put the controller in delete mode and press the system button three times. Please note that after the device is excluded from the Z-Wave network, all settings you have made will be reset to factory settings. 4. Connecting ConnectHome sensors IR thermostat CH-202P is equipped with a CH-S06L power measurement sensor, it is connected to the terminal on the front panel of the device according to the diagram (Figure 1). Also, the IR thermostat has the ability to connect one of the various ConnectHome sensors to the S-Bus connector (Figure 1). They can be of two types binary (for example: a motion sensor, it has only two values: there is movement / no movement) and multilevel (for example: a temperature sensor). Sensors are not included in the kit, if necessary, they can be purchased separately. List of ConnectHome sensors that can be connected to CH-202 on the body of the unit, except for the power sensor CH-S06L included with CH-202p. Sensors are used to assess the environment in your home: temperature measurements; measurements of relative air humidity; the level of illumination of the presence of movement. In the Z-Wave network, sensors are displayed as structural units (endpoint) of the CH-202 module. Data is transmitted to the control controller via Z-Wave radio commands. Important! Only one ConnectHome sensor can be connected to the special S-Bus connector of the CH-202 device. The sensor must be connected before the module is connected to the Z-Wave network. If it becomes necessary to connect the sensor after connecting the module to the Z-Wave network, you must first remove the device from the network, and re-add it after connecting the sensor. 5. Communications Z-Wave devices can interact with each other, as well as exchange data and other information, both with the central controller and directly without the participation of the controller. Each event can have its own list of recipients, called a link group. Refer to your Z-Wave controller's user manual for link settings. Communication groups SN-202: Group 1 - a device (a controller is recommended), which will receive reports on a change in the state of the thermostat, data on the instantaneous power consumption of the air conditioner, data from sensors connected to the device. The group size is 3 devices. 6. Parameters To determine the current state of the device, the CH-202p thermostat has Parameters #1, #2. With these parameters, power consumption data can change the state of the air conditioner in the Z-Wave network. For example, when you turn on the air conditioner, from the remote control, the status of the air conditioner in the Z-Wave network will change from the off state to the working state (Working state modes: heat or cool). When the Z-Wave controller sends a command that will select the appropriate mode (heat, cool) with the selected temperature, the thermostat will check the current state of the air conditioner and send it the appropriate command. If the air conditioner is turned on or adjusted using the remote control, the thermostat can determine the current state of the air conditioner (on / off), but cannot determine the current mode of its operation. In this regard, the Z-Wave controller will be aware of the status of the air conditioner, but the operating mode will remain the same as the one selected last time. Parameter #1 - Accounting for power sensor readings The parameter allows you to take into account the readings of the power sensor (set in Parameter #2) when sending an on / off command, as well as change the current state of the air conditioner in the Z-Wave network. 0 - Yes; 1 - No (Default). Parameter No. 2 - Power consumption threshold This parameter specifies the value at which the air conditioner will be considered turned on. Permissible values 1 - 5000 W; - 10 W (Default). Parameter #3 - Resend the command "Turn off" Whether the "off" command will be sent if the air conditioner is turned off. 0 - Yes; 1 - No (Default). Should be considered, re-shutdown will only work from the application. Parameter #4 - Air Conditioner Command Type A parameter that indicates what type of commands the air conditioner uses. 0 - toogle commands; 1 - not toogle commands (Default). Please note that turning off again will only work from the application. Sensor operation parameters The IR thermostat is equipped with an energy measurement sensor. In addition, one of five different ConnectHome sensors can be connected to the CH-202 module using a special S-Bus connector. In the Z-Wave network, sensors are displayed as structural units (endpoint) of the CH-202 module. The sensor that has the lowest serial number in the Z-Wave network is called sensor No. 1, the sensor that has the highest serial number in the Z-Wave network is called sensor No. 2. Information about binary sensors will be transmitted to the controller immediately, regardless of the time and number of events. For multi-level sensors, you must select the value by which the sensor readings should change to send data to the controller, in addition, you can select the interval for forced sending of sensor data. ATTENTION! Sending data too often will overload your Z-Wave network, which may cause devices to work incorrectly. When choosing a value in the parameters, you need to take into account the type of sensor to be connected. Table 3. CH-S01 - & nbsp; temperature sensor. -40 to +85C CH-S02 - temperature and humidity sensor -40 to +85C; 0 to 100% CH-S03 - light sensor from 1 to 4000 lx IMPORTANT! Some controllers, unfortunately, do not support entering negative numbers when selecting options. In this case, to select a negative value, you need to use the formula (256 - | desired value | = desired value). Example - the required value for -10 is 246 (256-10=246). Parameters for sensor #1 Parameter #25 - Difference between previous and sent readings of sensor #1 This parameter is used to adjust the frequency of sending data of sensors connected to the module. Valid value (1-3500): default value depending on the type of sensor connected (temperature - 1, humidity - 5, illumination - 100, power - 50).
